I figured why not try it and find out! My red marble female never was able
to breed so I bred him to an opaque female. The batch was rather small and
as the fish were coloring up they looked rather pale. I culled quite a few
of them that never really developed correctly. When a flashlight is shone upon
the fish the body reflects steel blue iridesence throughout. The fins are red
with butterfly pattern showing through. An opaque sheen can be seen covering
most of the fish. I currently have a pair of these in a breeding tank. The females
vertical stripes contrast nicely. The outcome of this should be interesting!
Anyone care to guess at that batch?
